Preparing the Sanctuary for Christmas
November 27, 2010
Church members gathered throughout the church on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to decorate the sanctuary for the Christmas season. While the adults and older children assisted in hanging the roping and wreathes and setting up the Nativity, the younger children were active in the Fellowship Hall making Christmons - symbols of Christian faith, for the Christmas tree that was in the sanctuary. Another tree was decorated in the narthex and four wreathes were hung on the front doors of the church. While everyone was busy with their assigned tasks, Alice Garfield entertained the workers by playing the grand piano in the church sanctuary. Afterwards we all adjoined to the Fellowship Hall for a supper of hot soup and bread and then back into the newly decorated sanctuary for a Christmas Hymn Sing.
